The Golden Era of Partying
Believe it or not, Brooklyn is one of the party capitals of the world right now, having become a top clubbing destination in the last decade alone, despite the global party scene grinding to a halt during the pandemic.
While venues in the world’s biggest cities – from Paris to London and Ibiza – are closing down, Brooklyn has experienced the opposite: in 2021, New York’s newly appointed “Nightlife Mayor” even argued that “a new golden era of partying is imminent, rivalling the 70s and 80s with clubs like Studio 54”.
So needless to say, Brooklyn is where the party is at. With its endless supply of waterfront spaces, rooftops and warehouses, it can host bigger parties with fewer noise complaints and gritter backdrops than across the Hudson River in Manhattan.
The New York borough offers something for everyone: great food and plenty of places to dance until dawn, from dives and intimate venues to megaclubs, via a host of rooftops with stunning views of the Manhattan skyline.
And it’s not just about going out; there’s so much more to do there than just partying all night long: shopping in one of Brooklyn’s many markets or relaxing in a spa after an exhausting day of adventure (or a night of clubbing).
Some of the best parties in Brooklyn (and in New York City, period) happen in Williamsburg, from indie music venues to buzzing warehouses, and a core of bars and clubs that are constantly packed with people ready to party.
A decade ago, Williamsburg was an industrial zone with some artists and small businesses sprinkled among large grungy warehouses and auto repair shops. Today, the hipster capital of the US is filled with trendy restaurants, bars and boutiques. The area has become so popular that rents have skyrocketed over the past five years; it’s now one of New York City’s most expensive neighbourhoods.
You can find anything there, from fresh vegetables to vintage clothes and handmade jewellery to artisanal coffee roasters, alongside rooftop dancing, superstar DJs and underground parties.
Stay at the Williamsburg Hotel
Our CEO Stig stayed at the Williamsburg Hotel over the summer and was amazed to see the incredible line-up of DJs playing at the hotel’s own rooftop parties. Guests get to dance to live rooftop music with the Manhattan skyline in the background. Even locals come to stay in order to get access to the resident DJs, rooftop parties and candlelight concerts happening every month.
Set in central Williamsburg, this gem of a hotel is in the middle of local hotspots, with live entertainment and vibrant nightclubs on its doorstep – while still being only minutes away from Manhattan and all major transport hubs.
